SPFIE Award for the Best PhD Thesis<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Objective: to award the best PhD thesis every 2 years<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cSPFIE <\/strong>Award for the Best PhD Thesis<\/strong>\u201d is a Fracture and Structural Integrity Portuguese Association initiative with the goal of recognizing the work of newly doctored candidates in Portuguese Structural Integrity Engineering or similar areas. The winner will be selected within the candidates, according to the award regulations and announced on the biannual Structural Integrity Conference, acknowledging the Engineering students\u2019 academic merit and promoting Engineering in society. Applications will be open until the end of the year prior to the Conference, and all PhD students finishing their thesis in the previous two years may apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applications are open until December 31, 2025<\/s><\/strong> January 15, 2026 <\/strong>to all students who completed their doctoral theses in 2022 to 2024<\/strong>. The award will be presented at the next Portuguese Conference on Fracture <\/strong>in the end of March 2026 (to be announced).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The jury is comprised of two permanent members and one invited personality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applications are submitted, with the respective thesis in pdf format to the email associacaoSPFIE@gmail.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SPFIE Carrier Award<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Objective: to award an outstanding researcher from the national community every 2 years<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cSPFIE Carrier Award<\/strong>\u201d goal is to recognize the academic carrier and lifetime scientific activities of a distinguished Portuguese researcher. The award is attributed in the biannual Association Conference and decided by a jury comprised by the conference Chairperson (acting as the jury president) and the remaining members of the association executive committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To be delivered at the Society’s conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chairman of the conference remains as president of the Jury and the others are composed of the ex. colleagues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SPFIE Scientific Merit Award<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cSPFIE Scientific Merit Award<\/strong>\u201d goal is to recognize the scientific developments and achievements by a Portuguese researcher in the area of Fracture and Structural Integrity, on the previous couple of years. The award is attributed in the biannual Association Conference and by a jury comprised by the association executive committee members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
